Metallic Epoxy Floors in San Marcos, CA

We pour metallic epoxy across San Marcos, from the newer builds up in San Elijo Hills to the older garages off Mission Road. Most of our San Marcos work is garage floors and home gyms, though we have done a few retail spaces near Restaurant Row.

What a Metallic Epoxy Pour Involves

We start by grinding the slab with a diamond grinder to open the concrete pores. That step is not optional. Epoxy bonds to profiled concrete, not to a smooth troweled surface. Then we patch cracks, prime, and pour the metallic base coat.

The metallic pigment gets moved with a torch and a leaf blower while it is wet. That is where the marble-look swirls come from. No two floors match.

A full build is usually 3 coats plus a polyurethane topcoat, landing around 25 to 40 mils thick. We let each coat cure before the next. Plan on your garage being out of service for about 4 days.

Why San Marcos Slabs Need Moisture Testing

A lot of San Marcos homes sit on grade with slabs poured into that Twin Oaks Valley clay. Clay holds water. If moisture vapor pushes up through the slab, it can lift an epoxy coat months later. We run a calcium chloride test and want under 3 pounds per 1,000 square feet before we pour.

Summer helps. The dry San Marcos heat pulls slab moisture down and gives us a wider pour window than the coastal cities get.

What It Costs

Most San Marcos garage pours run $6 to $12 per square foot depending on slab condition and how many crack repairs it needs. A standard two-car garage, roughly 400 to 500 square feet, usually lands between $3,000 and $5,500.

We also handle polished concrete, and you can see the full process on our metallic epoxy page. For nearby work see our Escondido epoxy page.
